Dennis Reckley
PRINCIPAL AND LEAD ARCHITECT
Our lead architect's love for the built environment began as a teenager working construction in Detroit. He moved on to serve in the Navy Seabees – stationed in the Antarctic – responsible for building the Antarctic Palmer Research Station. His passion for design led him back to Michigan where he graduated from Lawrence Technology University’s College of Architecture and Design.
Dennis worked with several prestigious firms before striking out on his own: Herman Miller, Tilton and Lewis, and WBDC. His desire to merge his right and left brain to help his clients realize their dreams, has led him to believe architecture must be more than form and function and incorporate the third dimension of value.
A passion for community has led him to develop neighborhoods where people hang out beyond home and work – environments that facilitate the creation of social networks. If you've been to Holland, it's likely you've seen much of his work on Main Street.
Dennis holds licenses in Michigan, Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Illinois.
Erin Weaver
DRAFTING ENGINEER & DESIGNER
As Irene Au says, “Good design is like a refrigerator – when it works, no one notices, but when it doesn’t, it sure stinks.” This describes a role every design office needs and Erin fills this role for us. Joining our firm in 2004, she transforms design solutions into construction drawings, buildable design details and is often the voice of the client in the design process.
Her passion for designing buildings began in 8th-grade art class when she was challenged to design her dream home. Seeing something she drew become a built building or an amazing interior, gives her a sense of satisfaction and pride. And now this passion has been translated into making our client's dreams come true!
Erin is a graduate of Grand Rapids Community College with an Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting. She strongly believes in mentoring young women and is a leader of a chapter of GEMS at her church. She satisfies her creative side with sewing, crocheting and other crafts. Look for one of her creations at a local craft fair near you!
